How it works

Six questions. One inbox built for your sail date.

Before we send a single email, we ask you six quick questions, who's sailing, which port you leave from, and what kind of shore time you actually want. Everything after that is tuned to your answers, not a generic Hawaii checklist.

The interview

What we actually ask, and why

01

Your sailing basics

Cruise line, ship, and sail date. This is what lets us count down to your ports and start ramping content as the date gets close, no generic "Hawaii in general" filler.

02

Who's in your group

Solo, couple, family with kids, or multigenerational, covers stroller-friendly waterfalls versus black-sand hikes nobody under 40 should attempt in flip-flops.

03

How you like to move

Snorkel-and-swim, hike-and-view, luau-and-lounge, or "surprise me", plus your comfort with tender boats, since some ports mean a wet ride ashore.

04

Repeat visit or first time

First-timers get the essentials. Repeat sailors get the stuff we usually save for locals, the second waterfall past the tour buses, the counter with no sign.

Timed to your countdown, not a calendar

Every two weeks, then weekly as you get close

Right after your interview, you'll get a welcome issue with your ports at a glance. From there, dispatches land every two weeks, planning notes, port deep-dives, packing nudges. Inside the month before your sail date, we switch to weekly so the details stay current: tender schedules, weather patterns, last-chance excursion bookings.

Questions

Before you start the interview

Is my sailing info kept private?

Yes. Your answers are only used to shape your own newsletter, we don't sell your details, and we're not affiliated with any cruise line, so there's no booking upsell hiding in here.

Can I change my answers later?

Every issue has a link to update your interview, change your sail date, add a port, or shift from "hike-and-view" to "lounge-and-luau" any time your plans change.

What does this cost?

Nothing. The interview and every dispatch are free. We keep the lights on through a few relevant tour partners, never through your inbox being sold.

How do I unsubscribe?

There's an unsubscribe link at the bottom of every issue. One click and you're off the list, no survey, no guilt trip.
